Sheffield Wednesday Football Club is pleased to give away free children's tickets to home supporters for the re-arranged match against Barnsley on February 17.

With the match against our South Yorkshire neighbours now scheduled to take place during the half term week for schools the club will give one free kids ticket to any under-16 accompanied by a paying adult.

Adults who have already bought tickets for this match can claim a free child's ticket on production of their ticket at the club's ticket office. The free tickets can also be claimed by adult season ticket holders on production of voucher 4 from their season ticket books.

Sheffield Wednesday Chairman, Lee Strafford, said: "We are delighted to give children the opportunity to come to Hillsborough to watch this local derby for free.

"The atmosphere has been outstanding at our recent home games and at the beam back of the match against Sheffield United. With the fixture against Barnsley being rescheduled for half term we wanted to allow as many schoolchildren to come along and enjoy this game as possible so that local youngsters can enjoy the great feeling around the club at the moment."

Anyone who had previously bought a child's ticket for this fixture will be provided a free ticket for a future match at Hillsborough on production of their ticket stub for this game.

Free child tickets for the Barnsley match will be available until 4.30pm on the day of the match (Tuesday, February 17) but will not be available on the turnstiles. These tickets are available to personal callers only and Sheffield Wednesday advises those wishing to secure free children's tickets for this match to do so in advance of the matchday where possible to avoid possible queuing at the Owls Megastore.

In the mean time, the club continues to give tickets away to local schools, with more than 2,000 children and parents set to benefit from this giveaway for the game against Barnsley next Tuesday (7.45pm kick-off).

Following discussions with Barnsley Football Club, away fans who have bought child tickets at the normal price for this match are advised to retain their ticket stubs to claim a discounted ticket for the next league meeting between the two clubs at Hillsborough.
